Trip to Lofoten - part 2 (Sandenfjord - Bodø)

Finally, we are in Norway, that's great. Nice sunny weather welcomes us by 17 degrees of Celsius. We are unpacking our baggage and wrapping tarpaulin. We are checking the map, which way to go to the train stop Torp and we are heading there. We are going on the road and enjoying everything around. There are a lot of wooden houses, well-trimmed houses with beautiful lawns, there is no distraction for eyes like rusty fence or plastic clotheshorse around these nice houses. That's totally different compared to our country. Almost every house has flag of Norway with flagpole waving in the wind.
As we get to the train stop, we are waiting here for two hours. You can easily go by bus from the airport, it's about 4 minutes ride, but we had a lot of time. We jumped to the train heading to Oslo and now we are relaxing, checking emails and weather. After a while, we are reading shocking information from NSB site. Our night train that continues from Oslo to Trondheim is canceled due to flooded tracks. And we had changed our tickets before getting on the train. But we are now using them. That sucks.
We are trying to think about changing our plans, maybe we could go to some National parks in the middle Norway. Going up to north would be really expensive with new tickets now. We are pretty upset.

When we arrived to Oslo, we want to try luck. We are going to NSB Informations and we are describing our situation to a young lady. In a little while she is giving us a new tickets with a smile and message for train conductor describing our situation. It seems that it was no problem! That's awesome! NSB rocks!!!
The new train departures tomorrow morning and is going to Hamar, after that we have to change to train to Trondheim and finally to Bodø.
It's evening, but it does not look like it, that's because of a polar day. We are going to check the Opera house, really love that house, after that we are tired, we would like to sleep today. So we are checking the map and the fastest way to get somewhere we could sleep seems to go to the endstation of  number 1 subway, because it could be near some forest. So we are going there and in the train we remember how we ride the same line last year. We are passing by Holmenkollen stop. We were on Holmenkollen ski jump last year, it's really nice viewpoint there. Finally, the subway endstation is really on the hill, above the city near some park and there is forest. That seems like a joke :) We are tired but glad and we are building a tent. It's about 01:00AM and it started to dawn.
Wednesday morning about a nine o'clock we are heading to the center, we want to buy at Nor Brothers (arabian shop with everything, nice prices, they have an incredibly tasty banannas, we knew this shop last year). After some shopping we are getting on train to Hamar. The way is nice and there are a lot of lakes everywhere. There are some notes about the floodings, flooded houses upon the lakes.
In Hamar there is next train waiting, that continues to Trondheim. It's small diesel train. We don't have a reservation for seats, because new tickets, so we hope that we stay for a while at seats we chose. The way is nice, but after a little while we are loosing our seats and we ended in the train corridor, that sucks. Few more hours to go. But views around are stunnig, lakes with deep forests, rocks, waterfalls, grazing cows, the weather is great.
We are arriving to Trondheim in the evening, outside at the station there's really nice smell of the sea and fresh air.
We are going toward the sea, it's a short walk from railway station, eating dinner, and watching sailing team training. After dinner we're going to the center and we want to visit Nidaros Cathedral. Saddly it's closed, cathedral is so spectacular. I haven't seen anything like this before, from the east side it looks like it came out of a fairytale, with those trees around. West side has a lot of statues, really nice to see.
So we are enjoying the views to cathedral and
relaxing in the park. After that nice experience we are going to the square in the city center - Torvet. That's nice round square with statue of the city's founder in the center of it. We are waiting there before departure of our night train to Bodø. It's about 10:00PM but the sun is still shinning like it does in afternoon. There are a lot of arab citizens, many of them are trying to make some money by finding and returning empty drink bottles and cans back to shops. They have a great strategy and they're going around the trash cans on bikes once a while. They are not begging you for some cash like they do in Oslo, they are making an effort to live in this city i would say.
We are taking the night train to Bodø and we're going to sleep. That's nice, that they give you a blanket, air pillow and eye cover in train for free.
When i accidentally wake up, i see the daylight, but it's a nigt, yeah a polar day welcomes us. :)
